Hey! I am working abit behind the scenes on this page, on something like a build/reccomendation guide thingy.. I was hopeing to make something usefull for people from beginner to advanced, and perhaps makeing it possible for all of you to join in and help making people make good decisisons on what they buy and build… because, you know, its nice to help the comunity! I’ve also been pretty good at adding “unreleased” videos up here! * pat my own back *..

The snow is also starting to vanish here now, so did my first field rip of the year aswell! allthough I like to have more things to play with, it was nice to have a open “safe/non destructive” place to fly again!

Happy Easter!

This post is not a april fools, I think.. Anyways, its the easter week, so hope all of you have a good one, with familiy, friends and drones! For my part its nice to feel the weather getting warmer again, and starting to see some snow melting! woop woop!

As for the schedule break of not posting for a week, I can announce I will post a video for you again this weekend, cant have you all forget about me xD haha lol!

2.7K And Schedule Break

Lets start with me not uploading a video on YouTube this week, did you think I died? haha, dubt anyone noticed if we dont count myself. “WELL I KNOW NOW, WTF, Why didnt you?” you may ask.. And the reason, nothing particular, but the weather have been kinda crappy, and I dont have much footage stored for a rainy day(litterally at this point) theese days, that said, I still flew abit, but noting I felt like would be a nice edit, atleast yet, maybe a cinematic/range vid, but it was abit slow aswell, maybe I’ll do a midweek post, or nothing at all.. Life as most of you know tends to be abit busy at times, so its good to chill alittle on the creator front, and fly to have fun when time allows!

And as none commented on yet, lately, my freestyle vids have been downgraded to 2,7K.. didnt notice that either, did you? simple reason, got abit tired of cracking screens on my camera, so im doing a testrun again with some Session5 cams and enjoying it, miss the light weight! as for the cracking screens tho. I killed my best looking session by cracking the main lens inside the cam*silently cries inside*, in additon I’ve chaned some glasses on them and been through a few screen protectors.. So, I dont know if:
-my plans with saving screens failed.
-I just had bad luck.
-I sendt it harder not being as scared for the cam, and having less weight.
and yes, it might be a combination, but mostly its the last one I think. I’ve felt like sending it lately! Just hope I break less camereas for abit now!

Cato, Are you hibernating?

Bahh, yeah I know, not as much is happening here as I planned for, and for that, I am sorry! Actually I’m quite busy (atleast I feel quite busy), but not that much of it is related to FPV.
Allthoug, I’ve managed to get out a video a week on YouTube, and kept fairly enganged with you guys there, witch is good. But somethimes I wish I could make epic edits all the time for you, but yeah, sometimes I need to keep it simple :) I think I have some cool stuff that you’d like coming up tho, just need to gather everything, film and edit it, so keep your eyeballs ready for that. Anything else FPV related at this point? Hmm, no, I dont think so. I have gotten to put in a few packs here and there tho, so even if there havent been any epic adventures and such, I still have flown abit.. when I think about it, its been too little cinematic stuff lately tho. Maybe I should try to fire up the Chimera7 and the ProTek again soon aswell. (Note to self: Yeah, I should probably do that).
And ohh yeah, the Discord channel I made, kinda seems like a big FLOP.. since no-one seems to be interested in it I might just drop it, I’ll give it a bit more time, but it seems like a dead idea! haha

Unsuccessful Line Of Events

As most of you probably know, atleast the ones of you that’s innto FPV, and especially freestyle maybe, every day you head out to fly, is NOT a great succesess, with alot of cool shots to bring back home and share with everyone.
Today, I had such a day again.
We had great weather today, tho’ way too cold. By cold I mean -20’c. But the sunshine, fresh snow everywhere , golden light and all made the world look supernice. so I packed up and went out to fly!
The plan today was to get down some freestyle packs, then head out on a cinematic longrange-ish flight with the Chimera 7 Pro later. So here we start..
I was about 30 sec innto my warm up run, bom-bam-bing-crash innto a ceiling, and got somewhat stuck on a beam up there (up there is about 8m off the ground maybe), and by the time I mannage to turtle it loose, it falls down and slams on some chain rails and down to the tarmac. Rip battery, rip antenna mouns, rip motor.. aand ofc the gopro got slammed, so corrupt video file, aka NO video.
so over to second pack, second drone and second pack… memory card issues…. so after changing all cards and BS I get down half a pack, slams innto ground backwars, and breaks another antenna mount (fragile TPU in the cold).
Eventually getting down a few packs, before heading out for a Cinematic flight.
And hold and behold, after climbing up a nice sport for signals, the flight was actually nice, exept I wanted to have stick cam for you, so I was freezing my fingers off (-20 remember) to the almost painfull point. but I got in some lines I think was nice, some cool nature shots and hill dives, frozen river surf etc! And I think it would make some great clips to show you —- IF—— I had pushed record on th e GoPro…. ohh yes, I forgot to record the whole flight.

So as I said, not all days are a succsess, in terms of what you set out to do. But I still got to fly some pacs and are content with that.. Even tho now I need to spend money on new parts (again) .

Vietnam

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
So, I’ve just came back home from a few nice weeks in Vietnam. Unfortunately, even as I brought (alot of) my FPV drones and gear, there was pretty much ZERO time(or places when I had time) to get up in the air. So I’m sorry to say I only had one flight with the Chimera7, and that was it for the entire trip.. I was hoping to maybe put together a “Vietnam Special” for you, but thats not going to happen this time. I’ll see if I just make a flight video on YouTube, or if I just decide to make some SHORTS/REELS of it. Its a bit of a bummer that I did’nt get to fly more, but non the less I had a good time in Asia. The food, the people and the scenery is awesome, not to mention it was +30’c instead of -30’c (no joke) as it was back home in Norway! haha

Back home and looking forward I have a few plans of expanding the FPV projects I’m doing, but we have to see what time, inspiration and money I find. Because remember, just like you, I also have a ragular day job and family, so time is often as at strech here aswell ;P but fingers crossed, and I’ll update you when I know!

PS: If you travel to Vietnam as a FPV pilot, be aware that SOME airports are super strict with batteries. I got alot of mine confiscated at Cần Thơ AIRPORT going to Phú Quốc with Bamboo Airlines!
I was only able to bring the TOTAL of 4 batteries, regardless of size. (I chose one li-ion for the goggles, one li-ion for long range, and two lipos, I BARELY got the gopros batteries outside this count, only if
I had them INSIDE the camera, my spares got confiscated!). But, I think this is mostly a thing for the smaller airports, maybethey are not too used to our mean looking FPV batteries and why we have so many of them, I dont know.
All of the bigger airports I’ve been to didnt even care to look at them (Ho Chi Minh/ Saigon airport etc).
THE GOOD THING, since we were coing back to that airport at a later stage, they gave me the option to store the batteries there for a small fee untill we returned, so I got it all back once we landed there again! :)
(thats not to mention I actually forgot it when landed, so after travelling for 1 hour, we had to turn around, go back there and pick it up, haha, so that took 3 hours, not one! xD)

Newsletter

The learning curve the last few days has been rapid. Learning to set up webpages, domains, mailing lists and so on!
BUT, we are slowly getting there!

So, the mailing list for our newsletter should now be up and running and working! woohoo!!

Plan is to get one sendt out to you guys once or twice a month to start with, starting in January. When you start recieveing them, (constructive) feedback would be epic! What you like, dont like, what you want added etc etc etc.

Untill we start sending them out, it would be awesome If you joined!

and yes, theres also a NEW Discord channel up now! Called FPV & Coffee, but you dont have to drink coffee to be part of it!

It all begins with an idea.

‘Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.’

This phrase was actually already put innto this template, but I found it somewhat accurate for my reasoning to lauch a website. An idea of maybe, just maybe, I would be able to someday make something out of this passion I now have for FPV, for creating things, and enjoying the prosess.

To be hounest, I have alot of ideas, many of them just slide across my brain before leaving again, some stay acouple of days, but some seem to linger for awhile. The webpage was one of those who have been stuck in my thoughts for awhile, and look, here we are!

As I’m writing this, the page is being built, so I will not spend much more time on a blog with thougts now. Im also unshure of the future plan involve blogs, ony time can tell.

As the holidays are coming up I hope to have time to charge my batteries abit, even when I feel like I still have a thousand things in progress. And this is where I will take my leave for today. and if I dont come back before the holidays:
